The meaning of the word baptism.
The word baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo. The meaning of the word baptizo is to dip.
Baptism is God's command.
God sent John to come around to witness to people to repent their sins and baptized them. “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand”. Matthew 3: 2. "Then people from Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region around the Jordan; And he baptized in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins". Matthew 3: 5,6.
Whoever does not agree baptism will be judged guilt.
Baptism is one of God's laws every man must obey. Who does not accept baptism will not enter the kingdom of God. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; who does not believe will be condemned". Mark 16:16.
Baptism by immersion in water.
This is underestimate the laws of God as Jesus Christ is immersed . "When Jesus was baptized, went up from the water ...". Matthew 3:16. He insisted a man must be born of water. The fact that man be born of water must be immersed in the water, he came up out of the water he was born of water. "Jesus answered Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water ... can not enter the kingdom of God". John 3: 5. "John he was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were baptized". John 3:23.
The reasons of baptism.
(1). It is the fulfillment of the right or the law of God, that is why Jesus came to John to be baptized. "Then Jesus came from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized by you, and you come to me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Suffer thus far; because that is how we should (we) to fulfill all righteousness. So he accepted". Matthew 3:13 -15.
(2). It is a sign of being buried with Christ in his death. "So many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death...". Romans 6: 3,4.

Baptism of repentance.
When John was baptizing people came to him they confessed their sins and be baptized, that's what was called the baptism of repentance because two things happened at the same time, although each one is independent and has its meaning. Baptism does not take away sin, but it is right to fulfill God's law. Repentance is the word for confession of sin before God. Sins were forgiven by God through confession. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". 1 John 1: 9.

"And they brought young children to him to touch them; His disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw that he was very angry, and said, let the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God belongs to them. Verily, I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter at all. He took, he laid his hands upon them, and blessed them". Mark 10: 13-16.
Neither reduce nor add about baptism.
God has commanded to be baptized with water and we must do so not otherwise. We must obey God in all His laws without twist them or go against them. For example when you have your child and you have given the order to bathe the whole body but he decided to bathe only feet did he fulfill your order? keep thinking what will be glad for her action to make against your order?.Young children are not baptized .

Increaser or reducer of the orders or the words of God will never enter into eternal life in heaven. "And if anyone removes any of the words of the prophecy of this book, God shall take away his part in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are written in this book ". Revelation 22:19 . "You must not add the word that l command you do not minimize it, that you may keep
the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you”. Deuteronomy 4: 2.
