During the Old and New Testaments, God used to say to the children of Israel through his prophets. When God wants to say to the children of Israel, he sent a Prophet and order him the words that he want to tell the people. This method was just one of them, but there are other ways that God used to say to the people. These are:
1. Through vision and dreams.
Through vision God guided Paul the place where he will go to preach. " And a vision appeared to Paul in the night, and prayed him, saying Come over into Macedonia and help us”. Acts 16: 9. More reading in the Bible: Acts 10:30.
2. Through the Angels.
The Angel of Lord appeared into the right side of altar when Zakaria who was a Priest burn the incense in the Temple. He gave him a statement that his request of the child to be born was heard to God. "And when Zakaria saw him he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, and why wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John” Luke 1: 12-13.
3. Through Jesus Christ.
“Hath in these last days spoken into us by his Son when the hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”
Hebrews 1: 2.
4. Through Holy spirit.
God said to apostles through the Holy spirit. "... While Peter through in the vision, the spirit said unto him Behold, three men seek thee. Arise therefore and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing for I have sent them. ..." Read more in the Bible, Acts 10: 16-23: 16: 6-7.
Reasons not hearing the voice of God are:
There are some reasons which causes not to hear the voice of God These are:
1. Unborn again christian (saved).
If someone is not saved he/she has no relationship with God, therefore it is not possible to hear the voice of God.
2. Unforgiveness
Those who mistaken you causes resentment, prejudice and hostility
3. Live in the sinful life.
A sinful life is when someone says false, gossip, jealousy, hatred, resentment, hostility, negative thoughts, derogatory, proudly boasting, feel better than others, discrimination, aspire spouse of one or all other things against God.
God speaks to a specific purpose.
Not every time God speaks to his people, to the following reasons:
Fist reason.
God speaks to a specific purpose. It's not always God says to his people, but he does it for the purpose and needs of someone who calls or ask God something that need the answer from him.
Second reason.
God speaks to warn his people where someone have been living the life of sin in order to left them and to turn through repent. He give instructions on how to live according to his word lest to him.
Third reason.
God speaks with his people for comfort and encouragement due to the stress and trouble in their lives.
Fourth reason.
God can say for the purpose of well-known purpose. It may be for the individual, the church, state or the world.
Cautions about to hear the sound, dream, vision and prophecy.
The important thing to the Church and servants of God that must be careful not to believe all voices that they hear because not all voices come from God. sometimes it's the voice of the Devil and his Angels who go astray from God and lose their place in heaven. That's why if we read the Bible we can see how the Devil said and fool Eve about eating the fruit which God was not allowed them to eat. "....and the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. For God doth know that in the day Ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” ... woman saw that the tree was good for food ... she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her: and he did eat”. Genesis 3: 4-6).
Regarding dreams.
It is important to be careful because there is a dream come from ideas which are based on the things you have seen, heard or suspect. "For a dream cometh through the business: and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words" Ecclesiastes 5: 3. Dream also could comes from the Devil because of living a sinful life. Someone could may have a dreame that are serious bad, awesome and suffering.
About vision.
Not all visions are based on God, but other may come from the Devil. When we read the Bible we can see how a sorceress woman seen the Prophet Samuel who was dead many years ago by the Devil. This was after Saul go to her for speculation. "...woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth covered mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel ..." 1Samuel 28:13-14.
In other place we can see when the Devil came to Jesus and attempt showed Him the proud to all of the treasures of this world.
“ Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdom of the world, and the glory of him. And saith unto him, All these things will fall down if you worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence , satan : for it is written thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and behold angels come and minister unto him” Matthew 4: 8-11.
About prophecy.
Any prophecy that is given should be tested in order to know if it is derived from God. This section, I will explain the prophecy that has been provided by the prophets who filled with evil spirits to predict false and finally Ahab deceived and was killed in the battle. " Then there come out a spirit…..And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his spirit
..." Read more in the Bible: 2Chronicles 18: 20-21, 33:4.
Testing the accuracy of prophecy, dreams and vision if are correct is by the following ways:
1. The word of God.
2. Holy spirit.
It is important every Christian and servant of God perfectly knew the word of God in full but to live according to it, and filled with the Holy spirit. These are the three things which is very important which will enable one to prove and discerning that all prophecy, dreams and vision come from God.
