PRAYER - 2

This is the Continuation  of the  preceding of the first  prayer. Welcome and continue learning.

5. Pray hard and not  faint.
Prayers of this kind is a petition, you ask God again and again until He gives you what you need. If you read the good  news of God's servants which they  have applied for and receive,  they make petition and receive what they need. And not only that, our Lord Jesus Christ made petition and teach us to pray hard how to receive. "While Christ lived on earth he prayed to God, asking for help from the one who could save him from death. He prayed to God with loud cries and tears. And his prayers were answered because of his great respect for God". Hebrews 5: 7.

"He said example, ought always to pray, and not give up, he said, there was a judge in a certain city, not fear God nor regard man. And in the city there was a widow, who kept coming to him, saying, Get me right from my opponent. And for a while he refused; Then he said to himself, Though I fear not God and respect people, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will vindicate her, lest he wearied me with me always. The Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge. And God did! Give justice for His elect who cry to him day and night, and he is patient with them? I tell you he will give them justice quickly ...".  Luke 18: 1-8.

"... And Elijah went up to Mount Carmel, and bowed himself on his face and bowed his face between his knees. And he said to his servant, up now, look toward the sea. And he went up and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, go back seven times. When the seventh time he said, Behold, the cloud comes from the sea, as small as a man's hand. and he said, Go, tell Ahab, to get the chariot ready and go home now  rain may prevent him. . it happened in time, the sky was black with clouds and wind, then rained... " 1Kings 18: 42- 45.   These scriptures show  how Elijah asked God six times but it did not rain, but he did not despair, he prayed again for the seventh time and the rain poured down. Indeed God answers prayer by praying hard.

6. How to pray.
i).  Praying in Jesus' name.
"And whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it”  John 14:13, 14.

ii)  Praying for protection.
Oh!  God  Father in the name of Jesus, I pray to  protect me safe, and save me from all dangers. I thank you and l believe that you hear in the name of Jesus. Amen.

7. Pray and give grateful to God.
"Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus". 1Thessalonians 5: 17,18. "Be disturbed for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with grateful, all need to be known by God". Philippians 4: 6.

8. Before you ask God answers.
This promise become possible for those who believe in God and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. "It will be that before they call, I will answer;  and while they are yet speaking I will hear". Isaiah 64:24.  "... For your Father knows what you need before you  ask Him".  Matthew 6: 8. "Trust in the Lord and do good ... Delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart". Psalm 37: 3-4. Sometimes even before you pray you are given according to  the desire of your heart, but you must fulfill the mandate of   trust (trusting) and acting  good.

To be answered before praying is by  the grace of God in Christ Jesus. It does not mean not when ask, we should ask for and this is our duty that he answers our  prayer and he  glorify His name in  Jesus Christ. "If you ask anything in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son". John 14:13. God does more than what we ask or pondering. "Let him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us". Ephesians 3:20.

The reasons for praying.
1. Pray not to enter into temptation.
“Stay awake and pray, lest you enter into temptation; the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak". Matthew 26:41.

2. Pray for our needs before God.

When to pray.
Every time. "With all prayers and  ask all times in the Spirit, and watching thereunto and durability for all the saints". Ephesians 6:18. "Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving". Colossians 4: 2.

The venue of prayers.
1. In the temple (Church).
"Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at prayer, the ninth hour". Acts 3: 1.

2. In the bedroom.
"But when you pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you". Matthew 6: 6.

3. In the appropriate place.
He went to Olive Mount where his disciples went to pray. "And he went out and went to Mount Olives, as was his custom; his disciples accompanied him. When he reached the place where he told pray ... he was withdrawn from them ... and knelt down and prayed". Luke 22: 39- 41. Paul and Silas were looking place apart, and said " ... we went along the river, where we think that a place of prayer ...". Acts 16: 13.

Reasons of unanswered of your prayers.
1. Live in a life of sin.
"We know that God heareth not sinners ...".  John 9:31.
"Behold, the Lord's hand is not short that he could not save; neither his ear heavy, that it can not hear; But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear". Isaiah 59: 1,2.

2. Praying without faith.
But they shall live by faith; he was hesitant, My soul has no pleasure in him "Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard, you would tell this mulberry tree, Be thou removed, and be planted in the sea, 'and it would obey you". Luke 17: 6. "But without faith it is impossible to please ; for he that cometh to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who diligently seek Him". Hebrews 10:38, 11: 6.

This is the fruit that shows the patience of God to men, although they are sinful.  God is patient and he give them the time to turn and repent. He is slow to anger and    compassion for his people.  He  love to draw them to repentance.  ".... The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering,  and abundant in goodness and abundance,  keeping merciful for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; not ascribing evil man who was innocent would never ... ". Exodus 34: 6, 7. We can  continue to learn about the patience of God, before he brought a flood of water  upon the earth in order  to destroy the mankind because of the evil they were doing.  He gave them a period of time if they will repent. "People should obey the past, God's patience while waiting in the days of Noah, while the ark was made; wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved in the water". 1Peter 3:20. Those who did not repent were destro...

Word enkrateia comes from the word krat which means the authority or  administration. The amount is optimal of the fruit of  Spirit. This  is  important characteristic for every  Christian  who  is born again to have. God created man and gave him the ability to govern himself that's why He gave us the fruit of amount.     Some of the most important things that we should fulfill in order to  have the fruit of amount: 1. Food .   Eating too much that's extortion. "Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these ... .those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:21.
