Welcome to this subject which is concerned of being united with God and Jesus Christ. I taught union in this lesson which is a result from a person who believes and saved in Jesus and also decided to live according to God's word as is written. Such a person will be holy as God is holy. That is why Jesus said. "If anyone loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him". John 14:23. "But he keeps his word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected . In this we know that we are in him" 1 John 2: 5.
To those who are holy, God has given them the right to be united with him. That is why it is written, "You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I in you ...". John 15: 3-4. We can learn from our Lord Jesus Christ when he asked God for those who believe that they may be united with Him and Father. "He did not only those I pray, but for those who believe in me through their word. Both may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world believe that thou hast sent me". John 17: 20-21.
The primary thing, there is a need for believer to be perfected in unity with God. He shall be perfected to live according to what God's word says, and what father and son are doing in his home. That is why he said he was praying, "I in them and thou in me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me". John 17:23.
In the same way, we should have united us to us with Jesus as he was praying to God and said: "And the glory which I have given them; that they may be one as we are one". John 17:22. This is the true unity which God intended us to be. Therefore we can see condition and rules which God set so that all those who obey His Word can live in unity, between them and him. Being united with God there are more benefits than we can understand, Jesus has promised to be with him whatever you underwent . “lf ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done into you”. John 15: 7.
